Comfort Companions Personal Care was founded on a simple principle: exceptional care begins with genuine connection. We are committed to providing dependable, compassionate, and respectful in-home services that empower individuals to live safely and confidently in their own homes.
We understand that every client’s journey is unique. Whether supporting seniors aging in place, assisting individuals recovering from illness or surgery, or offering relief to family caregivers, we create customized care plans tailored to each individual’s needs and preferences.
Our caregivers are carefully screened, trained, and selected not only for their skills, but for their heart. Because at Comfort Companions Personal Care, caregiving is personal.

Mattie Ferguson brings over 20 years of experience in long-term and critical care nursing, grounded in a lifelong commitment to compassion and service. Her journey into nursing began at just nine years old, when she helped care for her father following a stroke—an experience that shaped her understanding of caregiving as both a responsibility and a calling. Raised in a family of nurses, Mattie learned early that the same love and attentiveness given to family should extend to every patient served.
A graduate of J. Everett Light Career Center’s Practical Nursing Program and Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), Mattie has continued to expand her clinical expertise through hands-on, experiential learning in diverse healthcare environments.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mattie demonstrated exceptional courage and leadership by volunteering as one of the first nurses assigned to a newly established COVID unit at her hospital. She later served as a travel nurse, supporting multiple healthcare facilities with a focus on quality assurance and delivering high-standard, patient-centered care during a time of critical need.
Mattie’s dedication has earned her numerous honors, including multiple DAISY Awards, recognition from the Indianapolis Star’s Salute to Nurses, and St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital’s Caring Angel Award for three consecutive years.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Mattie is a devoted mother, grandmother, and trusted caregiver to many within her family and community. She brings a spirit of motherhood, mentorship, and unwavering compassion into every environment she enters—creating spaces where patients feel seen, supported, and truly cared for.
